Worst is a hardcore band from São Paulo that doesn't try to be anything other than what it is: loud, direct, and aggressive. No fancy production, no forced melodies, just straight-up heavy hardcore with lyrics in Portuguese about everyday struggle, frustration, and surviving in a chaotic city.

The band started in 2011. Two drummers wanted to play something brutal, so they did. That's it. No masterplan, no trend-chasing. Just hardcore made by people who mean it.

What you actually get

Heavy, pissed-off hardcore. Down-tuned guitars, shouted vocals in Portuguese, breakdowns. Nothing more, nothing less. If you're looking for something experimental or progressive, this isn't it. Worst delivers exactly what the name suggests.

Their first album Te Desejo Todo o Mal do Mundo (2012) put them on the map in Brazil's underground. Since then, they've kept a steady pace, releasing records, playing shows, and building a solid reputation without chasing social media fame or jumping on trends. That alone is worth respecting.

The live factor

Like most hardcore bands, Worst makes more sense live than on record. The energy, the mosh parts, the crowd response, that's where they shine. They've played shows outside Brazil and built a following the old-fashioned way: one show at a time.

No bullshit zone

The band has been clear about where they stand: pure hatred expressed as a venting of frustration against social injustice. Just honest hardcore about personal struggles and the reality of living in São Paulo. You won't find empty slogans or posturing here. Just people playing heavy music because they mean it.

Worst is a reminder that hardcore doesn't need to be complicated. Just honest.

VERDICT

Solid, no-bullshit hardcore from Brazil. Nothing groundbreaking, just honest and heavy.
